Pretty cool. I can see this series coming along!

This was a very different flash in many ways compared to the usual submissions we got on the site. It was definitely "an interactive comic" like you said it was, and it truly played out nicely. I was happy to see another Brink of Alienation game was out, because i have enjoyed the other ones thus far. But i wasnt expecting this from you guys at all. This was a very different game from many different perspectives including the kind of stuff i know you for submitting. There were some minor errors, but im sure youll work most of them out as the series progresses, this is a totally new style of movie from what i have seen and it will take some time to work out the little errors in it. Heres my review.

The graphics were awesome, i just loved them throughout this movie. I was thinking while watching this how cool it would be if you could incorporate some of these visuals into your side scrolling games. But anyways, like many people have said before me and like you have said yourself, this did remind me of Broken Saints, but i found this more cool. The drawings were clearly the main focus of the graphics in this. The characters proportions seemed to be slightly exagerrated, but i think this was for the best. The backgrounds were really cool, they were very detailed and i rather like the futuristic look they gave to the city. The animation, or at least, what ever you had of it was great for a comic book style movie. I mean where on some occasions there were movements in the backgroun and stuff like that. I can see a huge improvement in your side scrollers because of these great visuals. The style of this movie was excellent. It is certain that if you watched the Broken Saints series and liked it, you well enjoy this too. The animating style, first off, was intricate and very unique. But there was more to the style than just that. The idea of an interactive comic is awesome, and was actually executed very well. Obviously it had its flaws, however small were noticeable such as the length of some scenes when nothin too much was happening. The gameplay was not very different, thought it was still good and it was also a good way to break up the movie into few different and fun parts. The story was actually very good, and i was surprised to hear a good one, i guess since its been a while that ive heard one. Of course your old side scrolling method doesnt get old either! The sound was awesome when it was running smoothly. But what i heard a few times is the sound seemed kind of choppy, like a sound effect would start then it would end before it finished playing kind of thing. Sometimes it just didnt really flow as well as id like it to. But the sound effects themselves were great and usually seemed complete. The voice acting was quality too, its a shame there wasnt more of it to hear.

Overall this was a great interactive comic, i wouldnt quite call this a game nor a movie. It was more of a pleasant mix of both. In the future i hope to see more interactive comics, that are maybe a bit more interactive than this one, and i hope they will follow this same storyline. What ever you decide to do, keep up the great work!

Amazing!

This was seriously one of the best games i have ever played on this site. I would say this definitely ranks up there with the top 10 games that have ever been submitted to Newgrounds. I just love it when i play or watch any submission whether its a game or a movie can do just about everything perfectly, or at least do everything with minimal mistakes that done take away too much from the final product. The score it has right now is what it should be like, very high. Ive never actually played Metal Slug before but this could be a reason to start. Here is my review.

The graphics, to start off, were fantastic. They were certainly different that the style of visuals i usually see in games on this site. I guess you could call it a "sprite" game because of the characters and everything going on the battlefield or the part we are playing on. Then the backgrounds appeared quite different from everything in the front. But all of this really made for a very cool set of visuals. The drawings, or in this case, the characters, upgrades and vehicles were very good. I think they all fit the game, whether it was for humour purposes or not. The animation and the way everything moved was very smooth, and made for some really intense action at some points. The backgrounds just looked great and really fit the action on screen. They were a bit blurry but that didnt really matter if you were playing the game and wasnt paying close attention to everything. The style also deserves a 10 in my opinion for a number of reasons. The animation style to the game wasnt really "animation" at all, but it fit it extremely well and it was different. But what made all the different here was the gameplay. It is the best side scrolling shooter of any kind that i can remember. This method was very successful thanks to the smooth controls, the fast paced action and the satisfaction of destroying anything or killing anyone even if they did only take one shot. Its cool how you sort of took the idea of the Metal Slug series, changed it around, and made it an online version of the game. It was just very cool and interesting how you did this so successfully, because often when people try this type of thing their products come out fairly dull. Other than the side aspects such as Violence, Interactivity and humour in this case the sound had to be the weakest not to say it was bad. In fact, it was great. But the quality of a few sound effects werent quite as good as they could be. For example, when any of the enemies die, their screams are a little loud and distorted, and the missles that you could use are sort of the same thing. Other than that i didnt have any problems, the rest of the sound effects were good, and the music playing constantly really gave it that "war" feel that was so key in making the game go way beyond my expectations.

Overall this was an amazing game with little or no flaws, depending on how you look at it. After i played it my first 2 times i was completely convinced this was something i would love to review and that it was going into my favourites. Its a shame that it didnt win any Daily awards or anything because it was accused of being stolen, but we can clearly see the score was there to win those awards. Anyways awesome job!

Ha! Really Cool!

First off i would like to say congrats on the various portal awards, they were certainly well deserved. This game was surprising for many reasons, the name wasnt what i would expect from such a great game. And the graphics were a little bit deceiving at first, but they quickly grew on not only me but i think anyone who played the game for more than one minute. I was amazed that with a game this simple, everything could be so well done. This was basically just a regular platformer, but with some added cool new tricks, some very charming visuals and a great presentation. I also really enjoyed the music in this game, anyways here is my review.

The visuals were pretty impressive throughout this game, i was surprised how quickly they grew on me. They werent artistically good, like the Brackenwood series, but they had something about them that really mande me love them. The drawings were quite obviously simplistic, the detail in them was fairly minimal. The backgrounds were also very simple. They did have a sort of cool colour to them though. But how everything came together to create the levels was amazing. I never would have thought it could happen with all the simplicity in the visuals. The animation was awesome too, it was very smooth and often humourous, like when Fancy Pants was running and his hair was waving in the wind. The style was in my opinion the most impressive aspect of flash in this entire game. The animating style was awesome, so simple but so cool at the same time. The one word i would use to describe it is charming. And i sort of felt the same way about the enemies, even if they were trying to kill me. I guess platformers never really do get old as long as theres at least one thing original about them. This was original in every way except for the fact that it was a platformer. It was cool how before you got the trophies you would need to go through a small challenge and succeed. The game was always running smoothly, from the time i played i didnt notice any bugs or glitches. And the controls were very responsive, and were comfortable to use. The length of the game would be the only critique i have here. The sound backed everything up nicely but wasnt quite as diverse as i would have liked. There were some songs, but not too many, and there were some sound effects but again not too many of them. But i really liked all that you had for sound. The song fit the game and added to the feel of it too. The sound effects were good too, they were kind of funny in a way.

Overall this was an amazing game with some aspects done in different ways that i have seen before. The visuals and sound were more simple that i usually see in games, but the style remained awesome. I have added this game into my favourites, and if you make more worlds of this game they will probably be there as well. Really nice work!

Great, but i encountered a few problems.

Very good game man. This is nothing less than id expect from the talented Armor Games crew. When this game was running smoothly without the problems that occured it was simply awesome. The basics of each aspect were done well, and all the things necessary for a good game were there as well. But each aspect sort of had its own problem that i encountered, i dont know if most of these happened on other computers. The game certainly did have an addicting element, i mean i just had to finish it before i was done playing. Here is my review.

The visuals were not what i would call impressive but they were definitely good. The environments were sufficient to make the game look good overall and each arena did look entirely different. Each of them also had a theme which were very noticable. But none of them really had very much depth or detail, and the actual area where you could move was not all that varied in some arenas. The actual characters were great on all levels. They were small but pretty well detailed, and i loved how each team sort of had a theme. And all the characters withing the team would look similar but still different. For the most part, the animation was smooth until i periodically experienced some major lag out of nowhere and had to restart the game. The style was great overall. The animating style wasnt quite as "out there" as id like, but i suppose it was still decent. The idea for the game was great, and as far as online games go, pretty original. The presentation, however, was very mixed. The game was fairly lengthy and offered a few different modes, challenges and in game things such as guns and enemies that kept in addicting for a fairly long time. I rather like the fact that you could pick up 2 of the same gun too. But there were also quite a few problems that i noticed. Firstly, on one particular match that i can remember the enemy bots were jus running back and forth quickly and only started to move once you got in site of them. This happened on numerous occasions. The floors were a little odd too, sometimes i would land near the edge and i would just fall through the floors. On the space arena i fell off the side once and just kept falling so to continue playing i had to restart the game again. Some spawn points were just too random, quite often i would land right infront of 3 enemies and i would pretty much die before i could shoot a bullet. And lastly, the point scoring system was messed up. If you killed yourself or another member of your team your own total would increase and not decrease like it should. Despite all that and when nothing was going wrong the game was SUCH a blast to play. The sound was surprisingly good. Cool sound effects were really the key here, while the music only added a little bit. Each gun sounded totally different, but still all very cool. And other little things such as "Headshot" made a big difference in the end.

To summarize my review, this was a way-above average game as long as none of the problems i noticed were affecting it. Despite these problems each aspect was still very good. I dont have any professional advice, simply because you are a much better artist than i, but i say you submit an updated version to work out some of these bugs and ultimately make the game more enjoyable. Way to go man.

This series has yet to dissapoint me!

Wow, another incredible game. I have no doubts many more will come. It amazes me that using pretty much the same methods in each installment of this Drakojan Skies series never gets old or in the least bit dull or boring. Each installment has something slightly different about their gameplay, this one had some things like water bombs and a branching storyline. Another one that i recall had a good first person shooter element added to it. Basically these games have not gotten old and i doubt they ever will as long as you keep up the great effort. Here is my review.

The visuals were one of the trademarks of this series. They always have a very realistic look and feel to them. The detail in absolutely everything was just amazing. Truthfully i have no idea what programs or strategies you use to make everything look so intricate. The backgrounds are very impressive. Most importantly they fit everything else in the amount of detail and realism they have. They do a great job of sort of demonstrating the objective at hand, like in the 2nd mission where many buildings are covered in fire and are usually destroyed. All the special effects are well done too, the explosions, upgrades and of course the gun fire from every vehicle. The style was awesome too. There was only one thing id do differently in this aspect. I would have added difficulty settings, and easier one and the default, because truly i found the game very challenging. Other than that everything in style was done extremely well. Quite obviously, your animating style is definitely unique and easy to tell apart from others. But the actual gameplay is the most important thing for your games. As i said theyre always slightly different but keep the same general idea. These games are like very cool variations on the great space shooters such as Raptor, and like the others in the series, this could pass for a real full-length game. The difficulty setting would be perfect for other people, but the one thing it does is make the game last for quite some time. On top of all of this, you have a deep storyline backing everything up. In space shooters, a strong sound aspect is often difficult to achieve because of the repetitive nature. But the sound in this game remained very cool throughout. The sound effects were always cool and usually clear as well. The music was awesome, the choices were near perfect. They always fit the action flawlessly. But its a shame they didnt keep playing. They would play through once and then stop half way through the mission.

Overall this was yet another awesome game. Its a shame i am not the greatest at space shooters like this because i still have not beat this game. Well im just going to keep trying, enjoying all the game has to offer during my future attempts. Anyways for the future i guess add an easier difficulty setting and just keep up all the awesome effort. Hell of a job!

Nice!

Great game man. I had the urge to play a totally random game or watch a totally random movie using the Random Entry feature. And i got lucky by finding this great submission! This game was actually really good in all aspects of flash, and they even all came together to make some really fun and addicting moments. I guess overall this game wasnt quite as fluent as it good be, but it still remained fun the whole time i was playing it. I also like the fact you were able to make a diverse game, with a few different mechanics and i guess genres put into one. Here is my review.

The visuals were, of the things that you focussed on, probably the weakest element, not to say they were bad in any way. They just werent fluent enough for me overall, i mean sometimes when the action grew intense everything started to get slightly choppy. Also, when your character was walking one direction and turned around, it looked awkward because he sort of skipped walking a few steps it seemed. But other than that the character design was pretty original, and fairly well detailed for being so small. The little map just looked good too. The enemies looked pretty cool, i would love to see them in a bigger form to see exactly how they really look. The style was awesome here, this game is very original for a number of reasons, the most obvious one being the diversity of it. There were probably 5 different game mechanics combined in this game, such as the "Space Shooter" type thing when youre on your board, adventure when your on the map looking for somewhere to go, or sort of like a race when you are trying to go through as many hoops as possible within the time limit. They were all really different from each other, and pretty fun as well. Its cool to see you actually cared to put a story in, makes the game more interesting in my opinion. The length of the game was also superb, i havent beat it yet! The sound was great too, when the action gfew intense i could tell it was supposed to be by just listening to the sounds. Good music selection for the most part, all the pieces of music i can remember really fit what was happening on screen.

To summarize my review, this was a great game with little flaws that dont really take away from it very much. It was very interactive, diverse, action packed and certainly well put together. In your future submissions, just keep doing what youre doing and youll be very successful! Way to go!

Thank you, that was seriously the best review I've ever recieved! Bravo to you my man!

Woah! Awesome game!

Wow this was really awesome, everything about it was. This is honestly one of the best games i have played on the site. And maybe the best game of the past couple months. From what i can remember this submission is my favourite of February so far, i will be voting for it as number one submission if i make the voting panel again. Pretty much everything about this was original to some extent, but without a doubt the gameplay was very well done and unusual in a good way. There were only a few things wrong with those game, and most of them fall into the style category. You still have a 10 there which shows just how good it really is. Here is my review.

The graphics were definitely awesome, nothing seriously wrong with them at all. The first little scene with the captain was very well drawn and animated. I could tell the game was going to be good right from that moment. The actual building looked pretty good too. While each individual object was fairly simple in the way that it was drawn and coloured, the whole thing looked great as a whole. There were actually a lot of little things in the bank that showed some good drawing skills and effort such as the graphics behind the computers and the cameras which actually moved while they were on. I rather enjoyed the character design too, pretty simple but cool looking. I must say i liked the animations of the characters either running or walking. The style was definitely the most impressive aspect of this game, even if it probably did have the most flaws. The gameplay was very addictive, and challenging. But there were some things like not being able to save or the fact that there arent any checkpoints, and having no pause button or anything. It was addicting because once you played this for the first time you dont understand it, then you have to play again to know sort of what youre doing. And once you figure that out you have to keep playing to beat it to see what happens in the ending. Although it did get a bit frustrating having to restart so many times. There were many little different styles of gameplay other than the general one which was obviously similar to the puzzle genre. There were the 2 Simon Says games, the sniping alone then while driving, and of course the fighting with the ninja bear. The animating style was also very good, pretty original in my opinion. The sound was great too, the one thing i would have liked to hear is the option of having some music playing, even if it wasnt totally necessary. The sound effects were pretty numerous and quite often fit wihat was going on. I found the photocopier machine's sound very realistic.

Overall this was an amazing game with tons of little things that make it truly fun, challenging and just great overall. This is one of my favourite games that i have played over the internet and so far i think it is my favourite submission of the month. This is definitely going into my favourite submissions. This is one heck of a way to start your career here on Newgrounds!

Not bad at all!

Great game, truly fun for a little while. It was fairly addicting at first as well, i play it once and after that first try i really wanted to play it a few more times, obviously to get a better score. Everything you did in this was done pretty well actually, though they were all a little simple it is obvious you did this purposely, sort of like a KB game. Its good thing that i decided to check this out, it was just at the top of the list with a decent score. But i rather enjoyed it, so nice work. Here is my review.

The graphics were pretty good all the way around, i liked the little guy carrying the kite, hes fairly memorable and if you decide to do an animated series with him, it could really be a hit. All the animation was pretty good, the framerate never really went down even when the fish, or what appeared to be fish became numerous on the screen. I liked the background too, again it was pretty simple but i did as i think it was supposed to. Pleasant colours and fairly smooth drawings made it topped it off well. The style was great and all in all it was probably the best aspect in this game. It was a small game in both filesize and in content. But it was addicting and usually simplicity is the key to addicting games on the internet. The animating style was pretty good too, you could really make a full series with it. The game also played pretty nicely too, smooth running and the idea for gameplay was pretty original too. The sound was good, it did do as id basically expect it to, but not too much more. Its hard to do really well in sound with simple games like this.

Overall this was was a fun little game that deserves a good score, maybe a little bit better than it already has. I liked it, and it seems quite a few other people did too, i just hope you can keep making great submissions like this in the near future.

Cool! Very good game!

Excellent job on this game, it is one of the better ones i have played for a while. I think the reasons i have enjoyed it so much, are fairly obvious and similar to what other good things people have been saying about it. This game is appealing to anyone looking around for a good game on the internet, its easy to learn how to play for one. The basic concept for the game has been done before quite obviously, but you still managed to put a fair bit of creativity and originality into this game to make it seem almost totally new. Here is my review.

The graphics were great overall, nothing about them however really impressed me all that much. Its just everything you did have worked together well and gave a very complete feel to the game. The character design was pretty good, i rather enjoyed the little ninjas and pirates running around, and certainly that of the main character. The backgrounds seemed to have a slightly more polished style and i liked how they came out. They were pretty detailed and coloured well too. The framerate was always really good, and the animation that went along with it was smooth. The style of this game was awesome, the only thing here is how a side scroller beat em up type game isnt all that original anymore, because there have been so many. This game still did come out fresh with your light hearted character design and unusually smooth framerate. The idea is good, but there is not really anything special about it, i mean no real story development or anything of the sort. The presentation was good though, it was fresh and pretty fast paced for the most part. The length was certainly good, and even when you lose I wanted to keep playing. The sound was great, but what you do really need is some sound while your not in a battle, because without it the game seems to be lacking something until of course you reach a battle. Even a few footsteps during the time your not in a battle could improve the game. The music that you did have was awesome though, and the sound effects were good too.

Overall this was a great game, with a light hearted feel throughout, despite the violence and what not. It was certainly an amusing game to play for a while and it had only one thing that id definitely like to see done differently next time, the sound and how much of it there is in the game. Anyways way to go, i really want to see more!
-Two Thumbs Way Up! 4/5

A Solid game.

Good game on every level for sure. I definitely was amused for a fairly long while, i was hoping to see a very different level everytime, and the NG Tank level, and the one with orange balls did that for me. However, many of the levels werent very difficult and werent very different from each other. Still as i said, the game remained fun enough to be playing it for quite some time and not feeling bored throughout. It definitely deserves a front page spot at least for a while. Here is my review.

The graphics were great, a bit simple sometimes but they more than did the job. The drawings were simple, sometimes they did have a fairly smooth looking style to them, so they still seemed pretty good. The animation was pretty good, again simple but i still enjoyed it. The dog didnt always come very close to the bowl it seemed. The colours were well done for the most part, it would have been interesting if you had the option of switching the colour of the line you drew. The visuals were well done overall. The style was great too, this was probably my favourite part about the game for a few reasons. The animating style was just one of many things that went to the style in this game. The idea was great, and pretty much completely original. The only other game in which i can think of an idea similar to this is Kirby Canvas Curse for the DS, but this is the first time in flash i have seen it. The presentation was good, but i felt i was playing the same level twice sometimes, the length of the game however was great. This game also ran pretty well, with all the physics and whatever else you had, but as i said before the dog didnt always touch the bowl or come very close to it. The sound was good and more than sufficient. The song fit this game pretty well, except for a single part that i can recall in the song. The extra sound effects topped it off well, but didnt add to much to the final product.

Overall this was a great game, for having good visuals but more importantly for trying something new and original. The game was fun, it entertained me for longer than many other games have on this site and that alone is an accomplishment. Keep the great submissions coming, i want to see or play more!
