[Goomba Vol. 3]

Unexpected, but good nonetheless.

Very good man, i will say right off the bat that this deserves the daily feature today. It may have been a close call in the end, but im glad this pulled through the way it did. It was good in every way, but more importantly it was amusing and a great way to continue or finish off the series. This was definitely creative from the start of the entire series, somehow you made Goomba the hero! While everything in this wasnt done as well as i thought they would be with the high score, all the aspects came together very nicely, and i see why the score is the way it is now. Here is my review.

The graphics were great, nicely done overall. I wouldnt really say there was anything "wrong" with them but rather things or little parts of it that could be improved. The drawings were well done overall, the characters remained consistant in the proportions they started out with as well as keep fairly could accuracy to that of the real characters from Nintendo, but of course with your own flare. The backgrounds generally did the job, i wouldnt say i was impressed with them though, im sure if you really tried you could give them a little more depth and detail. The animation was not half bad, perhaps movements were a bit slow at some times, but i still liked how you made Goomba use weapons and objects. The style was awesome, there were a few things that contributed here, but id have to say the biggest factor here was how everything came together so nicely, even if the elements werent "amazing" as id say. The animating style was cool, seemed a little bit hard to tell it apart from other styles ive seen though. The idea was awesome, more so of the series as a whole. You kind of took all the Mario games and switched the whole point of view on things, and im sure that is a fairly difficult thing to do. Well way to go on this aspect too. The sound was great, i gave a few points for the effort i noticed you had here. There were sound effects for walking most of the way through, perhaps the sounds could have been different for walking on hard ground than walking on grass. I also really liked the many different pieces of music you used, each one was good its own way, and also pretty effective. The violence was really good too, you managed have a lot of it even with no blood!

Overall this was a great movie with elements that came together in a spectacular fashion and made this movie truly exciting, action packed and just great! This even had a little humour in the presentation itself, so congrats on another successful episode. If i could i would give a 4.5/5 but since that isnt possible.

[Another Day Seven]

Nice to see you guys back, and great work!

This was definitely a pretty swell flash, i think its safe to say every aspect was done, all having quality way above the average of movies submitted to the site. There were some things in this however, that i would have done a bit differently or some things i might have added if i could, i will explain some of them later on. But either way, this flash was rather amusing and it did manage to brighten up my day a little bit, and i find it just awesome when a flash is able to do this. Well theres not much else to say so here is my review.

The visuals were quite impressive to a certain extent, i mean they did have minimal flaws here and there but they were really nothing big. The character is familiar to me, and he has always been the same, memorable and well animated with. This was surely a new type of animation for you, especially compared to the Decline series, and this new type of animation came out well. The one thing about this animation that you could maybe improve on is the detail in the backgrounds, but i dont know if you made them fairly simple for a reason or not. And i probably would have enjoyed this even more even the FPS was set to a higher number. But the actual animation throughout was still pretty smooth, and definitely looked great! I also gave the style of this movie a solid 9, not just because of the new, cool looking animating either. But rather for the outcome of the movie in a sense that it was amusing the whole way through, the content and idea were original, and it put me into a better mood. The animating style as i said before was quite original, some techniques you seemed to have used havent been used in any other movies ive seen, one good example of this would be the look of the hanging keys. Something around their outlines made them look, well even better than id expect. The content really did look like an odd dream world would, i was surprised actually in the way you did it, random scenes sort of connecting to each other. The idea was good too, i cant help but like it when authors try something unique like this. The sound was good, though this may be the one area i would have liked to see done better overall. There just wasnt enough to the sound aspect in this case, a few sound effects could have been useful. The song choice did fit the movie pretty nicely, even if i didnt particularily enjoy it all that much.

Overall this was an awesome movie worthy of the Daily Award it had won a few days ago. It would be cool to see this animating style used in some of your future submissions, i mean the more you use it the better and more refined it will get. Well very nice work, it is for reasons like this you guys are one of my favs!

[PALADIN episode 4]

Woah, that was some awesome stuff!

Wow man, this was extremely good, if i remember correctly this was improved in every aspect over the previous episode. This series is quickly becoming one of my favourite series on the entire site for quite a few reasons. It could be because of the impressive visuals, maybe the intruiging storyline, or the overall feel of it. Most likely it is a winning combination of those things, and when an artist can do so many things well, in one movie i cant help but get very impressed with everything. It is only natural now that i have high expectations for the future episodes in the series. Here is my review.

The visuals were simple awesome, certainly worthy of a perfect 10, even if they werent absolutely perfect. First off the characters were just awesome, obviously the way they looked is very cool and creative. Along with the personalities, these are some of the better characters in any series on this site. The colours were wicked, and very effectively used. One big example is the hair of the PALADIN himself, while it is blue it looks like it could almost be real, and it certainly fits his character. The detail was very good in the characters, but the same goes for the backgrounds as well. They were for the most part very detailed and they were drawn well too, but you did really make them work in the movie and each environment seemed to be pretty well used by the characters in the movie, or yourself. The animation and special effects were also very impressive, the blur effects were awesome, maybe a tad overused but good nonetheless. The lighting effects(paladin holding the torch walking down dark hallway) were also very well done. The style of this movie was another thing that made this come out very successful overall. To start here, the animating style was pretty much near flawless. While it was in a way cartoony(a good way), it also appeared somewhat realistic at some points too. Really, there was sort of a mix of the two. The idea was really good too, in the case of the series, the idea kind of works with the storyline. The storyline was quite good, this particular episode seemed to be more of a continuation episode rather than one used for development. Its cool how we actually got to see exactly how he made it in the bottom levels of the castle. The presentation was very solid, the fairly long length allowed for a fairly detailed progresssion of the story. And by the end i was convinced i just had to watch the upcoming episode, thie probably ended up bringing in many new fans. The sound was fantastic too, everything was well done to basically summarize it. The sound effects were awesome, very real sounding for the most part. The music playing in the background and the many variety of them really made for a cool sounding movie. The voice acting was very good too, nicely done expressions throughout, i rather liked the voice work of the crow. On a side note i must say i was not expecting any humour in there!

Overall this was an amazing 4th episode and sure got me eager to see the upcoming 5th installment. This was impressive in every way and i hope the next one can be like that too. The humour was unexpected, and id love to see a little bit more in the next without sacrificing the whole mood that you had. Anyways one more successful movie like this, and i will probably put you in my favourite authors! Keep it up!

[Battalion 7 - Episode 4]

Haha! quite amusing!

This was very well done! I guess it turns out you dont have to have watched the other episodes to enjoy this one or find this episode funny either. Having that in a series is always pretty useful because one episode can attract some one to the series, and then they can become one of your fans, without watching the previous episodes first. Anyways everything in this movie was well done, and id never thought id say the sound was original but it definitely was and im sure you know why. I loved how all the elements in this movie came together! Here is my review.

The graphics were great all the way around. They werent quite what id call amazing or anything, but everything about them were done pretty well, and along with your animating style they came out extremely well. All the characters seemed to fit in, and each looked at least slighlty different from the next one, this shows a fair bit of creativity in the movie. All the drawings were smooth too, they appeared to be coloured well and they just looked good! The animation was not half bad either, i rather liked the facial expressions. While the visuals did have a simple final appearance, there were no flaws there either. The style was great too, although there wasnt anything very special here the style did turn out nicely. The animating style was solid as i mentioned earlier. Its just the story wasnt all that creative, but the presentation of it was still quite good with some unique characters and you also did it in a fairly amusing and funny way. It was interesting how each of the elements came together to make a very amusing 4th episode in the series, its not too often that i see movies that do this successfully. The sound was awesome actually! I loved all the homemade sound effects and music too, werent all the sounds and music bits done all by your voice and maybe one other person? Well i also found the voice acting pretty good.

Overall this was a mildly funny submission which im guessing is probably one of the better episodes in the series. I may just end up watching the others because of this one. Its always good to watch a series thats unfamiliar to you, well i hope the series can keep coming strong!

[Bankomat]

Hmm, i didnt get all of it but awesome anyways!

Way to go on this movie!! Despite not understanding it all, i found this movie really cool. Would i be right to say this movie had to do with propaganda, and all the people with the things over their eyes were being fed information and other stuff to convince them. Anyways, i found this movie very cool as i said, and it was actually pretty entertaining. And if the message is what i think it is, then it is certainly significant. Well here is my review.

The graphics were awesome overall, i noticed this basically right away thanks to the wicked cool animating style you used. The character design wasw pretty cool, i liked how each of the human like characters looked the same, as you probably know they added a more significant feel to your message. The giant bugs and what not looked pretty cool too. The whole outline of each character looked surprisingly good for some reason. The animation was possibly the most impressive thing to do with the visuals, it was all incredibly smooth and i found it cool how you sort of changed views often with it. The style deserves a 10 in my opinion, and there are quite a few reasons why. The first and most obvious one being your animating style which greatly helped both the visuals and the overall style. The idea was pretty good, i mean the whole way this was made using what ever music you did, it was just extremely well thought through it seemed. The presentation was fantastic, good message (of course it is what i think it is), although the whole propaganda thing has been done in this way. The whole thing looked very cool in the end. The sound was great too, it was a good song to choose because it was pretty unique sounding. It fit the purposes and needs of this movie as well as being fairly effectively used. Personally i just couldnt enjoy it all that much by itself, not to say it is a bad song.

Overall this was a very good movie, worthy of a daily award and by the looks of it, you will be getting one for sure, probably the #1 position. Well i really enjoyed this movie, whether i fully understood it or not. The only advice i can offer to you is to keep doing what your doing, and remain creative. Keep up the good work!

[qho episode4-HELP]

Hehe, nice work.

Great job on this short little animation. The only one big critism id have is to make it longer of course, but other than that there were only minimal minor things that maybe i would have done differently or improved on. It was actually a great movie for many reasons, and each element that you needed was definitely there, sometimes stronger than others, for example, graphics versus humour. Its good to see people making cool little and original animations like this, especially when they do them well. Anyways here is my review.

The graphics were awesome, i dont know exactly why but there was something about them that i really loved. It was probably the simple, yet cute looking animating style you had in this. The character design was very good, cute i must say! The round little characters certainly gave me a bit of a chuckle, and they were good for your idea too. The colours were well done, they were simple but they did add to the generally smooth animating style you had going on. The background looked good, it also fit the movie nicely. The animation was great the whole way through as well. The style of this movie was good too, if it werent for the short length it clearly would have been noticably better. The animating style actually had a big part to do with it here. The idea was great, and the presentation that went along with it topped it off the way it needed to be. It was clever, and had a memorable ending in a funny way. Theres basically nothing i would change or tro to change here either. The sound was great for sure, the little noises the creatures made gave made me give a small smile, they even put me into a slightly better mood. The whole sound aspect was done well, and ended up giving this short animation a very cool and complete feel.

Overall this was a wonderful little movie worhty of a watch for sure. I only wish it was longer as i said before, i was enjoying it so much as it lasted. But just try to keep that in mind for your next movie, and try to keep the same visuals and sounds in your next movie as they proved the be successful so far! Keep it up!

[We Are Robots - Gothbot]

Nicely done! A nice continuation!

This was another great addition to the "We Are Robots" series for many reasons too. Firstly i really enjoyed your new robot, it is a very good idea because it allows plenty of humour and obviously variety compared to the other robots you have done. All the impressive elements were still there as well, such as the visuals, style and of course sound. This was certianly as entertaining as your last few We Are Robots movies and perhaps even more so than some of them. Anyways here is my review.

The graphics were awesome without a doubt, they are perhaps the best i have seen them so far. The character design is quite good in each one it has been amongst the better designs for character/robots i have seen on the site. The detail in all the characters is always way more than sufficient, and the personalities are very good too. The detail in general is actually pretty good come to think of it, the backgrounds are great and they fit in with your animating style, which by the way is also pretty good. The overall style was helped by your animating style, but it was only a little part of why the style was so good in this movie. The personalities of all the characters help out here as well, and they all seemed pretty developped, especially that of Gothbot herself. The idea of the entire series is good, and is still coming strong, i mean your initial idea has still not gotten old in any way. The presentation was pretty good too, the length was satisfying though it could be a little longer of course. Also it showed many situations in which Gothbot was in, all of them were pretty funny. It was good to see Geekbot again! The sound was awesome too, the sound effects were solid but i liked the sound mostly because of the superb voice acting. The expressions were very near flawless and still your creativity shows here too.

Overall this was a great addition to this series, it was very amusing, entertaining and obviously very funny. I can only hope that the series doesnt end here, and that it keeps on giving all the impressive elements and humour that i have come to love. Keep up the great work!

[The Cellmate]

Haha nice, well done!

I really enjoyed this man! It was good in every aspect and on each level. Its rare on Newgrounds that you see something like this, a commercial/informercial done in flash, and done well on top of everything else. It came out very fun, amusing and quite possible the best submission i have today. I wouldnt be too surprised at all if this got in the Daily top 5, or better yet the best daily submission. Its always a breath of fresh air to see a submission similar to this in terms of the creativity and other stuff such as that. Anyways here is my review.

The graphics were pretty good, and i was impressed to a certain extent with them. The drawings were good i suppose, perhaps a little more detail in the character design could be useful however. I rather liked the backgrounds though. They were actually pretty well detailed and coloured as well. The character design was probably the only thing that could use some improvements, the main character had a dark outline while the commentator/host had a lighter outline, and beside each other it looked a bit awkward admittedly. The style was awesome however, as i said briefly before the idea was creative, original and the sense of humour was not disturbing in any way. The animating style itself could use a bit of work, but only if you find it totally necessary. The idea was awesome though. I mean the way you did it too was pretty good, and added more humour by the end. You did it in infomercial style rather than a random flashy commercial, which i have seen before. The presentation was splendid too! You made this movie the perfect length, gave a great amount of things that the cellmate could help out with and finally ended it positively. You seemed to have put tons of effort into this aspect. The sound was great, good sound effects and music choice throughout. The voice acting did have its moments, where it was very funny, and others sadly where the expressions didnt have enough "expression" in them, such as one instance where his friend had been talking to him, trying to get him to snap out of it!

Overall this was a funny movie, worthy of a good score along with a good review. I found this funny as you probably know by now, as did my brother who saw it too. By the looks of it, many of the viewers really enjoyed this movie. So i hope your next movie is like this in terms of its high quality. Keep it up!
