[Black Knights Episode 2]

Great work again.

Congrats on another very good episode. I liked how both were about the same in terms of the final product, and one wasnt worse than the other. Its always good too see some consistancy with authors. This one was slightly better but for the most part the way i felt about it was the same. I have many more comments for you in my review.

The graphics were just great, nothing more nothing less. The drawings are pretty good, there are hints of being new to flash in them, which isnt necessarily a bad thing. The detail was good, it shows you put lots of effort into it. The colours, while they were dark and dull, were perfect for the movie. I mean you really brought the proper feeling to life! I wish i could explain better. The style of this movie was great too, good animating style but i recommend you work on it for future episodes. The idea is just cool, very profressional in every way but presentation which was still good by the way. You have to work on the speed of how the story progresses, in this one sometimes there was just an image of a sky for too long. The sound was great, it was rough around the edges but i liked how everything was effectively used. The voice acting isnt quite up to scratch,its still better than i could do!

Overall this was another great chapter and i hope the third one will be even better. If it continues on this high note then this series could indeed be one of my favs!

[Irving]

LOL, pretty good!

Very good job on this, i liked how the character came to be. Just a stupid simple drawing from a friend. Well it was done well, the idea is simple but managed to be quite funny. It definitely had enough to make it a great flash despite the simplicity of the main character. Well wat else can i say here other than that it was great! Here is my review.

The graphics were awesome, i mean i couldnt quite give a 10 for minor reasons. The character was great, but he was just too simple for a 10. The colours and all other drawings were superb, and always very nicely detailed. The drawings just looked great, they had a very cool style to them that i wish i could explain better. The animation was quite good, and seemed to fit everything else. The style was very good as well. The length was almost there but not quite, so that was a tiny dissapointment. Other than that the style was pretty much perfect. The idea and how it came to be is great, interesting and most of all kind of funny. The presentation was good other than the length, you really made Irving seem like a moron! The sound was great, the voices were a little too soft, try to fix that up on future submissions. The actual quality of the voice acting was pretty good, and same with the sounds.

Overall this was a very good movie, that i will recommend to anyone looking for a good, short flash to watch. Keep up the good work in all your future submissions!

Very cool, but too short.

Very nice work on this, from the looks of it this could be a short teaser of a full post apocolyptic series or something. In other words it has great potential to be something truely great. Well as it is i liked it as well, but i was dissapointed with the length a bit. I was really enjoying it and its a shame to see it end so quickly. I advise you to make a series out of this. Here is my review.

The graphics were awesome and they were easily the most impressive this about this movie. First the ninja character looked cool, plus he was nicely detailed and animated with. And i liked the use of 3D as well, not to mention you did it extremely well. It was cool to see a combination of the two styles of animation. The overall style of the movie was great overall, though the short length negatively affected it. The use of 2 different animating styles is always a good idea, and when theyre done well its a bonus. The idea is cool and as i said it shows a lot of potential, so make it into a series!! The sound was great as well. There wasnt any music but i think it wasnt necessary in this case anyways. The sound effects were awesome, especially the backround sound effects.

Overall this was a great movie and ill say it again:with lots of potential, so please make it into a series. Or at least use these characters one more time. Keep it up!

[Routine]

WOW! Fantastic!

This was awesome! Wow it was incredible. It isnt often you get these movies that impress me as much as this did. I must admit right off the bat i wasnt so sure what to think, because it was a tad slow to get going, and the animation really does improve once it gets going. This had one of the best meanings of any flash i have seen for quite some time, well it has the best from what i can remember at the moment. I guess i can call this a masterpiece as well, with everything done so well. What else can i say here, this was fantastic, and i will try to explain why in my review.

The graphics were good enough for a 10. But this wasnt an easy decision for me to make as the beginning was a little slow going. Once it picked up and i saw what you are truely capable of, then i was convinced to give the graphics a 10. The character design, while it was somewhat simple, doesnt fail to be really impressive. I mean its totally original, and you seem to be trying to create a totally new style of animation, and for the most part i think you succeeded. The animation was wonderful, it was pretty smooth, and just fit in with your animating style, and this is something many others dont seem to do successfully. But what really impressed about the visuals was the backround work. It was eally detailed and it still managed to help create your animating style, despite being very different from the characters. The style of this movie was also good enough for a 10 in my opinion, for a few varying reasons. Your animating style is a big obvious one. It was awesome asi have already said. The idea of this is awesome too, i mean there is actually a message and a meaning to this movie. That accompanied by slick presentation, is a recipe for a perfect 10 in style. You dont see many animations today that have a real point and meaning to them, even though many still have storylines. It was a fresh experience in other words, you used one small set of colours, and it wasnt black and white, or grey. It was a completely original choice, and i always commend people for their efforts in originality. The sound was awesome too, i mean it was JUST about perfect for this movie. I think on rare occasions the music seemed a wee bit out of place. But at any other time it fit the movie and what was going on perfectly. Besides the music was just plain cool to listen to! An effectively used song is good enough for a 9 in my opinion. It was also nice to see some humour in this!

Overall this was a fantastic movie, it seems you have greatly improved since your previous animations, and i hope you continue to improve. Who knows what youll be able to accomplish if you do? Well once again very very nice job, and i expect to see another great movie soon!

[Space Jerks : Episode 5]

Great episode!

Great work on this particular episode man. It was almost better than the other ones. This one, however, was unique for a couple reasons, but it remained true to what the fans of this series love. And this was a good way to draw in new fans, with some different elements. Theres nothing else to say here, so here is my review.

The graphics, are always just good, you should try to work on the detail, and character design a bit. Having said that, the graphics are definitely not bad at all. The drawings have their ups and downs. The backrounds are basically constructed the same way, a little too much with the simplicity, but still cool, know what i mean? The style is great, its good you keep the same presentation in each episode, because that will bring back any fans of the previous episodes. Your character design in terms of their personalities and characteristics. They both have personalities that clash in a funny way. The ongoing progression of the story throughout each episode is good, despite the short length every time. The sound is great and it always has been. I like the voice acting quite a bit, and same with the sounds, as well as the fact that the sound added a lot to the final product. I was surprised to see so much violence in this episode, the humour was nice too.

Overall this was another great Space Jerks episode, im glad theyre coming in so quickly, but perhaps try to make the next one longer, and it wouldnt hurt to work on the graphics a bit. Keep it up!

[Liu Kang's Crossover]

LOL, another great sprite.

I have said this in many sprites over the past couple weeks and i will say it again, sprite animators are stepping it up. There are a lot more great ones coming in rather than noob attempts. this was an example of a good one and new animators should try and follow. Theres nothing i can really complain about in this which shows you put effort into all aspects, so nice work on that and here is my review.

The graphics were great, and this is important in a sprite, because without good graphics and animation they are almost painful to watch. The choice of sprites was basic, but perfect for the movie. The animation with them was usually quite good, thankfully i was never dissapointed with them. Well nice work on visuals! The style was awesome, im beginning to like sprite quite a bit thanks to movies as good as this. The idea is clever, creative, yet totally random and that is good in this case. The presentation was funny, and also just plain good, because it was good to see many different types of sprites in one movie. The sound was great too, mostly because the sound added so much to this, and made it a lot better. The sounds were cool by themsleves anyways.

Overall i loved this movie for many reasons as i have said in my review. I hope you can make more good movies in the near future, you got a great sense of humour!!!

[Yoshi's Island 3 (VGDC)]

Fantastic!

Wow, what else would you expect from the famous Randy Solem? Absolutely nothing, you are truely the god of all sprite animators. I have yet to see someone who is able to top your incredible abilities with sprites. This became oh too obvious after your Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom, which is quite possibly the best sprites series on Newgrounds! Well this had exactly what anyone would expect from you, awesome animation, a solid original idea, and last but not least some good humour. What else can i say, you honestly amaze me Randy! Here is my review.

The graphics, well you already know what i think. They were perfect as far as sprites go, i have yet to see someone who can match up with these graphics, and hence youre the best i have seen, making it an automatic 10. The choice of sprites wasnt all that complex in this one, but they were certainly chosen perfectly. They all melded together quite well and in a sprite movie that is what is most important. You can also do stuff with sprites i have not seen before, such as the multiple layers of backrounds. Theyre so damn cool looking and i havent seen those before. The actual animation is nothing short of amazing either! Very smooth, and all the visuals basically show how much you care about effort! The style of this movie was awesome except for one thing, the length. I realize they were skits but the combined length wasnt quite satisfying. Other than that the style was pretty much perfect. Awesome style of sprite animation, a solid original idea, a good sense of humour and the list goes on. The menu was awesome too, i had fun scrolling over the buttons just to hear the sounds. A good menu in a movie is usually really important. The sound was awesome as well, it was lacking a tad of something, though i cant quite put my finger on it. I loved it though, especially all the music. You had what seemed like one hundred different pieces of music, and they fit the situations they were playing with. Having a lot of sounds and music like you do just shows effort once again. The sounds were cool, and often quite funny. Besides all of that, the sound added a really cool oldschool/pixely feel that i just love about your movies. And the audio quality really complemented all the sounds. The humour was great, but i expected a longer movie, allowing more time for jokes.

Overall this was a fantastic movie worthy of a high score just like the one it has now. Hopefully you can make some more really good movies in the near future without sacrificing any quality or visuals. After watching this, im sure sprite animators want to become as good as your are , Randy. Please keep up all the awesome work!

Wow, just as impressive as the last part!

You guyz all have some serious talent. This was awesome, cool, amazing, action packed, everything combined. This is surely one of the more impressive sprite movies i have seen in a while. And this remains as probably some of the most impressive sonic flash i have ever seen, sprite or not sprites. I mean this has anything you would want in a sprite, and even more than youd want as a sonic fan. This was so intense, i mean wow im surprised you could make it so intense as a sprite. Here is my review.

The graphics were really great. As i have said a few times before sprite animators seem to be stepping it up these days, and im sure some of the new animators have followed or are trying to follow in your footsteps. The choice of sprites was great, it showed you put care into the movie, the backrounds were great, and often they added to the "intensity" of it all. It was great how everything seemed to fit together as well, in other words it all seemed that they were supposed to fit together. The style was awesome too, i dont think i have ever such an action packed sprite before. And it was intense. This is something i think many people try to do, but fail at. I mean for a sprite your animating style is good. The idea and story of it all is great, very well thought through. I like the stories or explanations that you put in the middle of the movie. The sound was awesome too other than a few minor quality problems with the voices and sound effects. The voices and sounds themselves,however, were just awesome. The sound effects were very cool and VERY numerous which is never a bad thing. You had many different sounds to go along with many different actions. The voices were good, but sometimes there was a delay between speakers, but that wasnt a huge problem. The violence was great in this, not bloody but there was a lot of it!

Overall this was an awesome sprite movie, and all this did was get me more eager to see the final episodes. This was all great, and its good to see your improvements from the last part. Dont dissapoint me in the next part, and im looking forward to it!
