[Transitions Episode 1]

haha! Awesome!

This is the follow up to the best preview i have ever seen. You got me anticipating the release of the first episode after i saw the preview, which showed perfectly what this series was going to be about. Well it seems like such a long time since i saw that preview, but it was definitely worth the wait! This weeks number 1 flash wont win it easily!! This is in the top 3 so far!

The graphics, while they could be a tiny bit better in some areas were awesome throught. Some of the backrounds could have been designed with more detail, but other than that there were little or no flaws at all. I loved the drawings of the characters, they have a really cool style to them. I loved the shadow effect you used in this movie. The colours were very well done along with the smooth animation. The style was just about perfect in this, close enough for me to give a 10, and i liked it for a couple reasons, one being your animating style. I loved the idea and plot of this, even though it is star wars, you released this well afte the stream of star wars movies came in, so its just as creative and original. The story progression in this was great too, this was perfect for a first episode. The sound was excellent in this, every little thing about it was. You used star wars music and sounds to get the whole "mood" that the real movies create. The other sound effects were excellent too. To top it off the voices were superb, they all had geat expression. The humour in this was worthy of a 9, the good thing about this series is that it has humour but it is not purely comedy based. There are other elements that make it great!.

Overall this was truely some awesome work, after seeing this i must see episode 2. I will greatly anticipating its release. This is a definite contender for #1 flash of the week, and this week is tough

We can only hope! I managed to nab 1st daily which pleases me no end, my aim was to better the trailer and so far ep 1 has so thanks to all of you who have been kind enough to vote and to comment on this. With a fan base this strong/enthusiastic you can garentee this series will continue to its finale.

Very good, fun to watch!

I will start off by saying i wish this was longer, but what i saw was quite good, and as i said fun to watch. Other than the length i cant really complain about anything in this, it had nice visuals, a good style to it, great sound, and even contained a good amount of humour. Well heres my review.

The graphics were awesome, in my opinion and im sure in the opinions of many others they were awesome too. In other words, the graphics had a very pleasant, yet detailed feel to them. The drawings were great, i loved how each and every animal looked. The animating style of this movie was really good, you put effort into everything it seems, including the backrounds. And i cant forget to mention the animation, it was very good and smooth! :D The style of this movie was awesome and i would have given a 9, if i werent slightly dissapointed with the length. But everything else you need for an awesome style was there. And that includes animating style, idea, presentation, and how the final product turned out with what you used. The sound was great too, i liked the various sound effects, but mostly the voices. They were just talking jibberish, but i found it funny, sometimes they reapeated syllables lol : ). The humour in this was good, i found myself laughing or smiling through a lot of it.

Overall this was a very good movie, just make your next one longer, if it does well ill be sure to watch it. Please leave a response if you can and keep up the great work! 4/5

I blame the length on a couple of things. One of them is just the length of the gag. At first I only had the aliens pulling up and doing the Visa joke, but decided that was painfully short and added the gopher scenes. The other is simply that this was sort of a trial for me. I was trying to establish my methods with this project.

Athough I've done a great deal of illustrating and some animation with other programs creating Flash animations purely for entertainment is somewhat new to me. I'm trying to find ways to create good quality in a reasonable time frame. This animation is 30 fps, I personally don't like to see jerky animations and I won't sacrifice frames to get an animation done.

I also had to script the aliens even though they weren't speaking english.
Every single nonsense word was written down. If I used a word in a previous sentence I used it again. It seemed I had to have some sort of actual language If I was going to lip sync these guys.

I expect the next animation to be longer just because I believe I managed to refine my methods doing this one.

My biggest consern was that people wouldn't think it was funny. This is an example of me being somewhat conservative. I plan to let go a little with the next cartoon.

ha! great work!

This was really well done, i didnt get the title at first because it says Peter Goldy, and i realize now that is just a spelling mistake. Anyways this was great in every aspect, it pretty much had everything you would want in an introductory episode.

The graphics were awesome in this. I noticed right after seeing the first character that you really know how to draw people with a cartoony style, and i loved it. The colours were really nice, and the backrounds were as well. The setting really impressed me, you really gave the feeling of a neighbourhood. The style of this movie was pretty good, it was really helped by your animating style first of all. The idea is really creative, definitely original and without a doubt well presented. You made tihs funny, though it could be a "boring idea" too. Im glad you did it this way. The sound was great, sounds were great and the music at the begining was nice too. Most of all the voice acting was awesome, it had great expression and was often quite funny.

Overall this was a great first episode, now i just have to see how the series develops. Dont keep me waiting! 4/5

Your definition of art, is maybe the best i have heard. I havnt heard too many but still this one stand out to me. I think youre right, anything can be art as long as it is beautiful to you, whether it be nature's art or anything else of the sort.

The graphics were great throughout this movie. There were maybe a few points where the characters could have been animated with more detail, like on the close ups. The drawings in general though were very good, and the black and white style was perfect for tihs kind of idea. It added a more "artistic" feel to the whole movie. The style was great too, and not only because of the black and white. The idea is really creative, kind of philosophical in a sense. I actually learned something from this, and i will probably use your definition if any body asks me. The sound was good but as you said in your comments, the recording wasnt the greatest, and neither was the voice acting. Sadly i have to agree with both those, i do know voice acting is difficult.

Overall this was a great flash, and its definitely different than most of the flash coming in day to day. Its always great to see something new, anyways keep em coming. 4/5

[FNF 05 - Board of Palms]

Great work! funny stuff!

I gave almost 8's across the board, because this was great, and obviously not perfect. Anyways i really enjoyed this, your submissions alwasy come out amusing, just like the entire Claveman series. Heres my review.

The graphics were pretty good. Its funny how the characetrs were trees, thats a really different way of doing things. Well they were drawn and animated with quite well. The mouths were all animated very nicely, and sometimes they were pretty funny. Cool colours as well. The style of this movie was good, and yes very original. I think this is the first flash that i have seen with palm trees as the main and/or only characters. The idea is pretty weird, there isnt actually an idea really, it was more of a random conversation. The sound was good, all or most came from the voice acting. The acting was pretty funny, and great expression through out. This was also definitely funny, your stuff is usually a "random" sense of humour.

Overall this was great, i think it is one of those submissions that I just cant hate, and that i cant find any real critiques for. Keep em coming! 4/5

[Lockfeld Episode 1]

Decent.

I saw this had a score worthy of BLUE, but iwatched it and now i dont really think so. There wasnt enough animation, distinguishable style, sounds, or humour to make this great. It wasnt horrible, dont get me wrong, but it could definitely be better.

The graphics, while they were good, were slightly dissapointing. They are usually of high quality with the Lock Legion, they were also in this one but there wasnt enough of them. Not enough animation or unique drawings. Still decent job overall for graphics. The style was not dissapointing in this, it usually isnt with the Locks. It was just a little too short despite being a "short". Shorts must have a bunch of little jokes to make them good. The sound was decent again. Ok voices, and there wasnt much else to sound really.

Anyways this was an ok flash overall. I have been more impressed with a Lock Legion submission. Make more great ones! 3/5

[Xyion - Ep.1: The Border]

Very good.

This was well done, and i would have given it a higher score, if it werent for a few style issues, its just my personal liking style. You mixed some weird elements, such as action movie and humour in a way. It was a good idea, but perhaps wasnt done quite properly in my opinion.

The graphics were great, and they really had their moments and by that i mean they were impressive at some points. The drawings were pretty good, but sometimes after being animated with a bit they appeared a little bit odd. The setting, environments and backrounds were great, i really enjoyed some backrounds. The 3D rendered animation was superb, all of it seemed to be fluently. The style was good in terms of your animating style, and idea. The presentation was good, despite using a pink condom as the hero. I think that took a lot out of it for me. I found it hard to concentrate on the serious story line when the condom was killing fat guys in only underwear. The sound was good, but the quality suffered because of the massive file size. And the points without music or sound effects seemed out of place almost. Well the sounds were very numerous, at the start they went with almost every action.

Overall a great job with some pretty easy ways to improve. Its too bad the hero is a condom, if so shouldnt this be a comedy series? Anyways i liked everything else. 4/5

[Reaper 2- Dark Justice]

Great work!

I have one quick question, did this really take you a year? Because that was too short to have taken an entire year i think. Still the work was impressive and you did put quite a bit of effort into it, and it did show.

The graphics were impressive, and seemed packed with effort. I mean the shaodws must have taken a long time. The drawings were great, they seemed realistic a lot of the time and pretty detailed. The shadow effects, as i kind of already said were very good. You did a great job of making the main character seem intimidating when he was supposed to be. The style of this flash was great, with lots of help from your animating style. The idea is cool, im just slightly dissapointed with the length. And for me the length goes in style. The presentation of your idea i must say is nice, quite nice. Good job on the sound but i needed to hear more i think, what you did have was good, but it seemed to be missing a little something here and there.

Overall this was a great animation, try to speed up your progress, because i want to see another one, but i dont want to wait an entire year. Anyways great work! 4/5

naah, it wasn't a whole year of solid work. I had exams so this cartoon got put on the backburner for a while. The next one should be finished sooner, in fact I've already started to paint the backgrounds.

[Shades of Grey Ep. 6]

Awesome! The best in the series!

Woohoo, its awesome to see yet another shades of grey episode. This series has steadily increased in greatness since the first one, and the scores are there to prove it. But really they have in my opinion as well.

The graphics are really cool, and they always have been in this series. There seem to be some 3D rendered graphics in there combined with some recognizable flash animation. Thats a really cool way to do things. Plus i liked the black and white style quite a bit. Again, its a different way to do things. The animation is really smooth, and very impressive to me. The overall style of this movie was also impressive to me, its unique. The combination of animating styles in this proved very helpful to the overall style. The whole idea and plot to this could use some fine adjustments here and there but nothing big. Plus there is progression through each episode, which shows you knew what you were doing before you began the series. The sound was quite good too. I really enjoyed the sound effects, they sounded almost realistic. The voice acting was superb though and thats the biggest reason why i gave sound a 9.

Anyways an awesome job overall, and im very glad to see this series steadily improve, this has become a famous series, and for a good reason. I hope i made sense in this review, i always try to help. I hope you found this helpful and leave a response if you can. I cant wait for the 7th! 5/5

Great work!

This was really well done, and i will say right off the bat i was very close to giving this a 5/5. This was really cool, a perfect way to try out some things, and yet make a great flash, totally opposite of those bad flash whose authors say "this is just a test".

The graphics were pretty good, i liked the backround but it wasnt the most detailed thing out there, also it was the only backround. Other than that the graphics were done very well. The characters were pretty cool, a little different than the usual character. The animation was smooth too, and with the graphics you made the ending intense. The style of this movie was awesome. Yes it was a test, but an awesome one and i think thats a first here on NG. Though 2 characters fighting each other to the death isnt an original idea, you did choose a good way to test things, and there were some small elements that made it seem original. The sound was great, the music you chose sticks in my mind, i like both those songs.(one i heard first here on NG, when i protected a movie) and the other song i here everywhere. This had humour too, the credits : ).

Well great job anyways, as i said i was very close to giving this a 5/5, but there were just some things that held me back. Keep up the great work! 4/5

I didn't realize that both pieces of music were so widely used, I'd never heard either in a flash before (I guess I don't watch as many as I thought.)
